My cats won't touch it
My cats love the chicken but has refused to eat the beef, unfortunately I bought 3 cases of the beef! I have taken it to the animal shelter where I work and unfortunately those cats won't touch it so we started using it as a treat for the dogs.

My cat eats it
My cat seems to like this. My cat has diabetes and ibd, seems to be allergic to poultry. Nice single protein option food, low enough carbs to be diabetic friendly. Glad it's decently priced too, my cat's blood sugar is still uncontrolled, she's eating 2 cans a day right now. It was also delivered fast and packaged really well. It was my first time buying a case of wet food from here. I've bought from many places in the past and typically get a lot of badly dented, or fully opened cans. They placed cardboard over the case of food and it arrived in perfect condition.

Three cheers for Hound & gatos
Several months ago my cat started having chronic diarrhea. A trip to the vets office got him a prescription for Metronidazole which made matters worse. His blood work came back good and so the guessing game of how to help him started. It took four kinds of food before I found the reviews for Hound & gatos. I am lucky as my cat loves this food. His diarrhea is gone and we once again have a happy vibrant boy. A big thanks to everyone who takes the time to review items. I would not have tried this without them. And a special thanks to the vets at Chewy for their advice to give him a probiotic.

Cats won't eat
I have 3 cats. Two are not choosy about their food but none of my three would eat this.

So far so good!
I was initially a bit skeptical about ordering this after reading all the reviews. I adopted my cat a little over a year ago and he has to be on this brand due to health/digestive issues (he's 11 yrs old). He's always liked the turkey and chicken cans but the price point is a bit high as my little guy eats about a 1.5 cans a day. Well I decided I'd still try this one and hope for the best and it paid off. At first I just added a little to his other food and he ate it and didn't turn his nose away from it. I did that for awhile and one day I just decided to give him only this type and he ate it and loves it. Now I just feed him this and sometimes the other kind as well. He does prefer the Turkey to all of them though. The biggest difference I notice with the beef is it has helped with his stool. The other cans seem to have a higher water content because he started drinking more water with the beef and his poo has gotten more solid. For some reason all the other flavors give him really lose poo and because he's a long-hair cat this causes some problems for him and for that reason I feed him more of this flavor now. Hope this is helpful as I sure like how it's helped me and my fur baby.

Great for unfussy eaters
My cats will eat anything I put in front of them that resembles food (except lamb H&G). They gobble this up. It's an excellent option for the price point if your cats will eat it—very high in calories per ounce, high-quality ingredients, almost entirely meat and organs. A lot of wet cat food looks repulsive, but this resembles something a human could fry up as a burger. It just smells like regular beef. 10/10 in my house, but it might be a different story if you have a picky cat! Try a can from a local pet store before ordering a full case.

Hound & Gato
I love the limited ingredient type cat food, and this is the 2nd type I have tried with my 3 cats. They seem to dislike the texture of this ( looks and scoops like wood putty-very sticky and dense) they like it at 1st- then after one or 2 meals, just turn their backs and walk away! yes, kind of spoiled! I am having to mix it with something a little more moist and sneak it in.

Great food for IBD kitty..when he wants to eat it
I use H&G beef as part of my kitty's, who has IBD, rotational diet. The single protein formulas work well for him. My only complaint with this food compared to the other proteins is the build up of agar agar on the top..my cat doesn't like this either. No problem though for us, I just scrape the top layer off with a spoon. But, if I don't do this my kitty won't eat the food

Listen To Reviews...Cats do not like it.
I read reviews before purchasing but figured, naahhhh not my garbage disposal of a cat. She eats ANYTHING...and I mean ANYTHING and all day long. She is crazy about food...but it was like pulling teeth to get her to eat this. One look at it and she's like, "nah I'd like something else please". Only when there was no other option and she was hungy would she eat it. So I guess there's a reason it's so much cheaper than the other flavors. I guess cats just don't dig this flavor. Also, a bit more concerning/interesting, this food made my cat's poop large and white. I would think beef has high fat but that wouldn't make it like that. So my guess is high carbs/fiber? So if you're looking for something to help with soft stool or to make sure anals are expressed, if you can get your cat to eat it, this would be it.
